Msgr. Gregory Sierra Sheridan

Notes: Msgr. Gregory Sierra Sheridan was ordained in Spain in 1935. He started his career as a priest of the Augustinian Recollect religious order and subsequently left the order to become a diocesan priest. Prior to arriving in San Diego, Msgr. Sheridan worked in at Christ the King in Monahans, Texas. According to the Diocese of San Diego, Msgr. Sheridan was assigned to St. John Bosco in East Highlands, CA from October 1948 to July 1949; and Immaculate Heart of Mary in Ramona, CA from July 1970 to September 1970. Upon retiring in 1983, Msgr. Sheridan reportedly returned to Spain. In 2006, a woman accused Msgr. Sheridan of sexually abusing her in 1969 when she was eight years old. Msgr. Sheridan was included in the Diocese of San Diego’s list of priests where the Diocese has received a credible allegation involving sexual abuse of a minor. Msgr. Sheridan’s whereabouts and whether he had access to children from 1983 to his death in 1991 are unknown.
