Notes: Fr. Patrick McNamara was a Jesuit priest. Although his career as a priest was short, Fr. McNamara has been accused of sexually abusing a child in approximately 1961 to 1965 and has been named in one civil lawsuit alleging child sexual abuse. It is believed that Fr. McNamara left the Jesuit order in 1968 after he earned his PhD in sociology from UCLA. He reportedly took a job as an assistant professor at the University of Texas and, in 1970, accepted a position at the University of New Mexico, where he worked until he retired in 1998. Fr. McNamara was believed to be living in New Mexico before his death in 2001. Fr. McNamara was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors.
