Notes: Fr. Owen da Silva became a member of the Franciscan Friars in 1936. At least one survivor has come forward with allegations of child sexual abuse by Fr. da Silva, from 1936 to 1937, while he worked in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles at St. Anthony’s Seminary in Santa Barbara, California. Fr. da Silva has been named in multiple civil lawsuits, including a 2008 civil lawsuit filed against the Franciscan Friars, Old Mission Santa Barbara. It is reported that Fr. da Silva was the first known perpetrator of clergy child sexual abuse in Santa Barbara. His whereabouts and whether he had access to children from 1937 until his death in 1967 are unknown.
