Ordination: 1967
Notes: According to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles at least three survivors have come forward alleging child sexual abuse by Bishop G. Patrick Ziemann, between approximately 1967 and 1986. Bishop Ziemann resigned in 1999 as Bishop of the Santa Rosa diocese amid sexual and financial scandals. Fr. Jorge Hume Salas, a fellow priest, filed a lawsuit alleging Bishop Ziemann coerced him into a sexual relationship in exchange for keeping silent about the priest’s admitted theft of money from an Ukiah parish. He admitted to his affair with Fr. Salas, but said the relationship was consensual. Bishop Ziemann was named in two civil lawsuits, which accused him of sexually abusing three boys. Bishop Ziemann was sent to St. John Vianney, an institution known for treating priests accused of child sexual abuse. It is believed Bishop Ziemann lived in St. David, Arizona without faculties until his death in 2009. Bishop Ziemann was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors
