Notes: In 1985, Msgr. William Spain was accused of having a cocaine addiction and engaging in a sexual relationship with a young man. Following the allegations, he was sent to a treatment center for three months and was then reassigned to a post in Coronado, California. After a short time in Coronado, Msgr. Spain moved to Hawaii, where he served as an assistant pastor at Holy Trinity Church briefly before his death. Msgr. Spain was included in the Diocese of San Diego’s list of priests where the Diocese has received a credible allegation involving sexual abuse of a minor.
