Msgr. Rudolph Galindo

Notes: Multiple survivors have come forward alleging child sexual abuse by Fr. Rudolph Galindo while he worked at multiple parishes in San Diego from approximately 1954 to the early 1970s. Fr. Galindo has also been named in multiple civil lawsuits alleging child sexual abuse. Following a 1985 lawsuit in which Fr. Galindo was accused of sexually abusing an altar boy at St. Joseph Cathedral, Fr. Galindo retired in 1986. In 2002, he admitted to sexually abusing three children and was permanently removed from ministry. Following his confession, Fr. Galindo was also sent to a treatment center for a psychological evaluation. In 2010, as part of a settlement with survivors of clergy sexual abuse, the Diocese of San Diego released Fr. Galindo’s personnel file. Fr. Galindo was included in the Diocese of San Diego’s list of priests where the Diocese has received a credible allegation involving sexual abuse of a minor. He was believed to be residing in Kenedy, Texas as of 2004. Fr. Galindo’s current whereabouts and whether he has access to children are unknown.
