Ordination: 1955
Notes: Fr. Paul McLaughlin worked for nearly five decades in the Archdiocese of Boston before retiring in 2001. After retiring, he moved to California, where he reportedly worked part-time from 2001 to 2002 at St. Francis of La Quinta Church in La Quinta and celebrated one Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Palm Desert. He was placed on leave in late 2002 due to sexual abuse allegations. The abuse allegedly took place while Fr. McLaughlin was serving at St. Agnes Parish in Arlington, Massachusetts, in the 1960s. According to the Archdiocese of Boston’s website, canonical proceedings regarding Fr. McLaughlin have not yet been resolved. Fr. McLaughlin’s personnel file contained references to one instance of physical abuse and another in which he told boys to wrestle naked. Fr. McLaughlin’s current whereabouts, status as a priest, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
