Notes: Fr. John Bauer is included on the 2015 Diocese of Helena’s list of priests accused of sexual abuse of a minor. Fr. Bauer left the priesthood in 1970 and opened an adult bookstore in Bozeman in 1981. He has been referred to as the “Priest of Porn.” In 1990 he was arrested for allegedly making child pornography films in Los Angeles and Mexico. He pleaded no contest and was sentenced to eight years in prison. He died in 1992 in a federal prison.
