Notes: Fr. Gabriel Salinas was a member of the Augustinian Recollects religious order. Fr. Salinas was born in Spain and was the first Augustinian priest to come to the U.S. It is believed that he worked in Nebraska from 1917 to 1948. Fr. Salinas has been accused by at least one person of child sexual abuse. Fr. Salinas has been named in one civil lawsuit alleging child sexual abuse in approximately 1958 to 1960 when Fr. Salinas worked at Cristo Rey Catholic Church in Los Angeles. Fr. Salinas was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors.
