Notes: Fr. Francis Dowd is a Redemptorist priest. In a 2003 civil lawsuit, Fr. Dowd was accused of sexually abusing a child from approximately 1963 to 1964 at Nelles Correctional Institute in Whittier. He was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. It is believed Fr. Dowd lived in Chicago at some point and died in approximately 2011. Since 1973, Fr. Dowd’s status as a priest, his whereabouts, and whether he had access to children are unknown.
