Notes: A 2002 civil lawsuit alleged that Fr. Robert De Otero had sexually abused two altar boys in the mid-to-late 1980s at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Kalihi, Hawaii. The first lawsuit was settled in 2004 right before a new one was filed, alleging Fr. De Otero had sexually abused another boy while assigned to St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Kalihi, Hawaii in 1985. In 1992, Fr. De Otero resigned from his post as Navy Chaplain after admitting to sexually abusing a boy at the Marine base in Twentynine Palms, California. Fr. De Otero was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. Fr. De Otero’s current status as a priest, his whereabouts, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
