Notes: Fr. John B. Doherty is accused of sexually abusing a minor from approximately 1967 to 1969. He was named in a civil lawsuit in 2003 and, in the lawsuit, his name was spelled “Dougherty.” He is believed to have lived at a private residence in Dana Point, California, for a time following his retirement in approximately 1989. He was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. Fr. Doherty’s whereabouts and whether he had access to children from 1989 to 2000 are unknown.
